![]() ![]() ![]() Some of them might have felt a little cheap, but only because I didn't know they were situations to look out for. I haven't looked at any guides yet, but I like to blaze my own trail and understand things on my own.Ī lot of the random deaths I've experienced have had clear explanations that I could visibly see, or work out. Still, just through trial and error I've made it to the Jungle area a few times. I'm clearly a fledgling in the game, considering the insanity I've seen on the reddit, first time browsing today, and other communities. However, if that's the argument, I would wager that Noita is better designed than life. Everything can just be blamed on luck, sure. Although, the things I'm coming up with are probably garbage, lol.īeing so focused on the random factors may be causing you to not search for/come up with creative answers to the problems you're facing. Finding usable solutions that work for you seem to be a big draw, and one of the reasons I really enjoy the game. Not saying you can't comprehend things in the game, just something I've noticed the past few years. Guides and stuff are cool, but the problem with the internet is some people can't figure stuff out for themselves anymore. I do think there's some skill, as far as motor-functions are concerned, but to me Noita seems to rely heavily on the user's ability to create their own personal knowledge base. Noita has so much nuance and subtlety that most everything I've personally encountered has merit to it, even if I don't understand it all yet. While there's a lot of randomness, like all roguelikes/lites, I don't really see it as luck in this game. Just need to watch the replay and see how you could have avoided it (watching the replay while saying "there was NOTHING I could have done" doesn't count ) ) You'll get there, just be patient and learn! Can't let a death ruin your day. ![]() I assume you haven't seen the crazy secret quests in the game if you think just getting a basic win is too hard. Not sure what the current best streak is, but I recall someone getting 14 wins in a row (as far as I am aware it was all random seeds with no restarts to cherry pick only good seeds) so there is definitely a large amount of skill involved in surviving. glass cannon giving them 5x explosion radius and damage) and makes this much more deadly. This danger is amplified in Nightmare mode as enemies can get perks (i.e. The most bullshit thing that can happen is if an enemy grabs an amazing wand and fucks you up with it, but even that you can usually work around in some way. I feel like this is the reason noita will never be as big as other rouguelikes, because of its cheap, dumb, wannabe hard, badly designed difficulty level that you can only battle with good luck instead of skill. In games like enter the gungeon, if you are skilful enough, you are guaranteed to reach the last level almost every time, in noita, you never know if you will make it past the first level because of some bullshit like spawning with a dumb potion instead of water. Its exhausting, skill will guarantees you nothing in noita, its a poorly designed mess filled with artificial difficulty designed to kill you in the cheapest ways like a single droplet of polymorphine or a random explosion you could have never forseen. Luck that a worm wont eat you out of nowhere, luck that a random enemy wont anger the gods, luck that a million enemies don't spawn in the hissi base, luck that you get a wand strong enough to kill stronger enemies, luck that you have a water bottle with you because if a single ember or poison droplet touches you or you will burn for MINUTES and lose all your health, luck that you manage to find enough hearts, Luck that you dont get teleported into a room with lava or a million enemies. I love noita, its probably one of my favourite games but in every other rouguelike, you get better with time and therefore you can get through the game with more ease. ![]()
